Lithuanian Independence Day celebration

On March 1, the Consul General of Lithuania to New York City joined the Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Connecticut and members of Connecticut’s Lithuanian-American community in Hartford for a celebration of Lithuania’s independence. Taking place between Lithuania’s State Restoration Day (February 16) and Restitution of Independence Day (March 11), this lively gathering included a recital of Lithuanian songs by the children’s choir, including a harpist and pianist, and a screening of the documentary “Laisvės varpas“ (The Liberty Bell).
