Annual Meeting of Honorary Consuls of Lithuania to the USA 2025

On December 9-10, the Lithuanian Embassy in Washington hosted the annual meeting of Lithuanian Honorary Consuls, which brought together Lithuanian Honorary Consuls from California to Alaska and Mexico.
Welcoming the participants of the meeting, Ambassador Gediminas Varvuolis expressed his gratitude for the close cooperation with the
Honorary Consuls, who are an important pillar of the Lithuanian diplomatic service in the US.
During the meeting, the Honorary Consuls discussed promoting Lithuania’s political, economic and cultural cooperation with the United States, met with members of the Lithuanian Parliament visiting Washington, spoke with representatives of JBANC, the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, and The German Marshall Fund of the United States, discussed current issues of hybrid threats, security and defense policy, spoke about the role and importance of communication in presenting Lithuania, Lithuania’s culture and discussed activities as well as future opportunities in the states they represent.
Honorary Consuls and Ambassador Varvuolis congratulated Honorary Consul Ingrida Bublys, who was recently announced as the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture 2025 Person of the Year.
During the meeting in Washington, the Honorary Consuls had the opportunity to participate in the screening of Lithuania’s 2026 Oscar® Selection “The Southern Chronicles” organized AFI’s European Union Film Festival, meet with representatives of six Lithuanian defense industry companies, and also chat with the Consuls General of the Republic of Lithuania in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
This meeting is an annual meeting of the Honorary Consuls of Lithuania in the USA and Mexico, during which the most relevant issues, activity priorities, and discussions are held on strengthening cooperation and coordination of activities.
